Physical Therapist

Serves as the rehabilitation context expert at the community-based clinic where he/she is located as well as the content expert for other community-based outpatient clinics who refer to his/her location. Performs physical therapy evaluation and treatment with outpatients and employees, male and female, ages ranging from adult to geriatric, having a variety of disabilities. Determines the most appropriate plan of care relative to the patient's diagnosis and age. Evaluates patient's condition upon appropriate referral to physical therapy to determine treatment plan. Performs and interprets results of tests and measurements for use in preparing for modification and/or evaluation of patient treatment, and adjusts the treatment based on changes in patient's condition. Evaluates patient's needs with respect to prescribed braces, orthotics, and selects appropriate appliances, determines which suits the patient best, and recommends necessary modifications to provide for proper fit. Participates in inpatient, acute rehabilitation, and other outpatient rehabilitation needs as clinical functions are needed and dictated by section and service leadership. Work Schedule:

Experience:
Must meet 1 of the 3 requirements listed - 1) Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy AND five (5) years of progressively independent experience as a physical therapist OR 2) Master's degree in Physical Therapy AND two (2) years of progressively independent experience as a physical therapist; OR 3) Doctorate degree in physical therapy. Licensure:
Individuals hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice physical therapy in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Must include copy of licensure in application packet Physical requirements:
Pre-placement and periodic physical examinations are required for hybrid occupations to ensure workers are placed in positions where they can perform the essential functions of their job considering their physical, mental and emotional capacities, without endangering their health or the health of their co-workers. Experience is only creditable if it was post degree experience as a professional PT and is directly related to the duties to be performed. Qualifying experience must also be at a level comparable to or exceeding the professional PT experience at the next lower grade level. Creditable

Knowledge of Contemporary Professional Physical Therapy Practice evidence by active professional practice, completion of a post-graduate fellowship or post-graduate residency program may be substituted for creditable experience on a year for year basis. Grade Determinations:
To qualify for the GS-12 grade level, you must possess one year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Examples of qualifying experience include but is not limited to the following:
providing assessment and treatment intervention; planning and modifying treatment based on a patient's response to intervention and/or change in medical condition; may provide oversight and delegate patient care responsibilities to a Physical Therapist Assistant, and/or delegate non-patient care duties to non-licensed staff; and, You must be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
Ability to make autonomous clinical decisions in a Direct Access environment. This includes ability to independently evaluate and treat patients who seek physical therapy services. Skill in performing examinations and evaluations of individuals who have or may develop impairments, activity limitations, and participation restrictions related to conditions of the musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiovascular, pulmonary, and/or integumentary systems while considering the effects attributable to unique psychosocial and environmental factors. Ability to interpret findings from examination and evaluation, select appropriate test and measures, and integrate findings into the physical therapy plan of care for the full range of patient populations. Ability to establish a diagnosis within the scope of physical therapy and identify the appropriate rehabilitation intervention, including referral to another provider for further consultation as clinically indicated. Ability to determine physical therapy prognosis by incorporating examination findings with the patient's preferences in order to set clinically appropriate treatment goals, optimize outcomes and maximize functional independence. Ability to independently provide clinical oversight of Physical Therapy Assistants as well as students on clinical affiliations who are in Doctoral PT Programs or PTA Programs. References:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
